Thanks to a provincial (Manitoba) grant, the Boissevain Lions Campground’s expansion project will be making great strides over the next few months, according to Discover Westman.
The Province is providing $100,000 through the From the Ground Up – Safe Healthy Communities for All Program to the Municipality of Boissevain‑Morton to complete long‑standing infrastructure upgrades and add 12 new fully serviced campsites, each equipped with 50‑amp power, water, sewer, Wi‑Fi, a picnic table, and fire pit.
Additional improvements include:
- a new west‑side access point from Anderson Drive;
- creation of an overflow camping area;
- 26 new fire pits on cement pads (24 individual sites, two group‑use);
- new recreation amenities, including a tetherball area and disc golf;
- tree planting throughout the grounds; and
- new signage, including a full campground map of all 63 sites, amenity signage, directional signage and contributor appreciation signage.
