Campland on the Bay and Mission Bay RV Resort, San Diego waterfront camping destinations, aim to make it easy for guests to take an extended getaway this winter season, according to a press release.

Campland’s new Open-Air Study Hall is available as a resort convenience for all families with school-aged children visiting either Campland or Mission Bay RV Resort. Additional amenities available to guests at both resorts include al fresco dining, a convenience market and coffee counter, dog park, playground, skateboard park and year-round onshore and aquatic recreation activities.

Camping is still considered the safest form of travel by campers and non-campers alike, according to a recent Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) study. In fact, 29% of general travelers, 45% of campers and 15% of non-campers plan to replace canceled or postponed travel with a camping trip.

“For the growing number of first-time campers, convenience is key,” said Ahmed Ait-Lahcen, general manager of Campland on the Bay. “Whether you choose Mission Bay RV Resort for a tranquil getaway or Campland for its family-friendly and festive atmosphere, our guests have access to the comforts of home—all while being immersed in a beautiful, bayside setting.”

With campgrounds nestled along the shores of Mission Bay, Campland and Mission Bay RV Resort are a snowbird’s paradise. As most of the nation gets colder, San Diego’s temperate climate boasts warm weather and sunny skies for those eager to escape the cold and enjoy the outdoors this winter season, noted the release.

Open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the school year, the Open-Air Study Hall provides a quiet, spacious and shaded area for kids to attend school virtually and complete assignments during a midweek family getaway. The study area features thoughtfully spaced tables equipped with power supplies and wireless internet access.

After coursework is completed, a variety of unique, outdoor recreation opportunities await. Take a stroll or rent a bike to explore the Mission Bay Bike Path adjacent to both properties. Take advantage of Campland and Mission Bay RV Resort’s beautiful waterfront location with year-round watersport rentals including stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, and pedal boats. Relax in Campland’s two heated pools and spas, and enjoy a sunset stroll on the beach.

Take a break from campsite cooking and indulge in a meal at Campland’s onsite Cantina restaurant which features popular daily specials. Open every day for lunch and dinner, the Cantina offers family favorites including pizza, tacos, hamburgers, and fresh salads. Adult beverages are also available including craft cocktails, beer and wine. Breakfast is served on the weekends and highlights breakfast burritos, pancakes and breakfast sides. Dine al fresco with a view of the bay or take your meal to-g
