A proposal for an immersive and experimental development is raising strong feelings in the southern Utah town of Hurricane, according to KUTV.

The Cove development is an estimated $28 million Western-themed development that features Old West-style shops, restaurants, indoor theater with 1,200 seats, wedding chapel, 60-room hotel with RV park, complete with equestrian center.

Besides the commercial development, approximately 700-750 homes are planned to be built in the area of 600 North and 2000 West.

Residents of Sky Mountain Communities are particularly concerned with noise, light pollution and increased crime as the neighboring community next to the proposed development.

Developers believe the development will breathe life into the rural Utah town.
