The Sullivan County (N.Y.) Industrial Development Agency (IDA) approved more than $420,000 in tax breaks for the development of a new campground on a former golf course in the Town of Forestburgh, according to the Times Herald-Record.

In a 5-1 vote on Monday (Dec. 17), the IDA board approved the tax benefits for Forestburgh Property LLC to move forward with its $4.5 million project on more than 300 acres of land on Tannery Road off of Route 42.

The company will do business under the name Another Sky, which says on its website that the campground is coming this summer.

IDA attorney Walter Garigliano described it as upscale glamping.

The site will contain about 100 canvas bell tents; a 650-square-foot general store, a 1,750-square-foot bath house with showers, toilets and sinks; and a 3,800-square-foot lodge for entertainment, according to the resolution passed by the IDA board.
