A proposed campground in Maquoketa, Iowa, Prairie Creek Campground, is set to go before the public during a hearing on Sept. 24, according to the Clinton Herald.
Jackson County Conservation Board members and Executive Director Daryl Parker will give a presentation about the campground project.
The Prairie Creek Campground proposal includes 50 modern full hook-up campsites, 20 primitive campsites, four year-round modern cabins, a modern restroom/shower building, playground and splash pad.
The campground is projected to bring in an annual income of over $225,000. The total projected cost for the project is $3 million. Revenue from the campground will repay the loan over 20 years.
