A small airplane made an emergency crash landing inside River’s Edge RV Park in Sparks, Nev., at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 30), television station KOLO reported.

“It could have been us,” said River’s Edge guest Bob Curley. “We saw all the black smoke, came running up the road and it was a ball of fire.”

It is a busy time of year at the 180-site RV park, but amazingly nobody was hurt when the plane crashed..

“He landed right in a tree,” said park guest Valorie Smiley.

It didn’t take long for Sparks Police to start moving residents farther away from the crash down the path along the Truckee River.

Residents had to evacuate their RVs. There was concern propane tanks could ignite from the flames, or chemicals from the crash itself could be a danger to residents here. The American Red Cross set up a temporary overnight shelter.
