The Pineridge Golf Resort opened its doors on Nov. 10 for a second open house on a proposal to re-zone the area in order to make way for an 80-unit RV resort near Lake Isle outside Spruce Grove, Alberta, the Spruce Grove Examiner reported.

Although the area is currently classified by Parkland County as country residential, Pineridge’s owner Jeff Richardson is planning to apply to the county to change it to bareland recreational resort district, the first step toward achieving the new RV resort.

Just over a year ago, Richardson opened a brand new 5,400-square-foot clubhouse on the golf resort. Now, he also has the necessary approvals in place to add two more holes to the course.

The next step for him is expanding the RV park.

“The golf course has been open since 1972 … and we’ve been in the RV lot business for nine years,” he said.

Richardson decided not to move forward with an initial proposal of a 210-lot RV resort, after holding an open house on April 7.
