It’s become a rite of passage – that annual fall (and winter) migration of “snowbirds” to the Twin Oaks RV Park and Campground, located just off I-75 (exit 127) south of Perry in central Georgia.
With RVers headed to Florida making their way back from the Northern states, I-75 at times seems like a moving parking lot with thousands of “snowbirds” flocking to their warmer Southern home destinations, according to a press release. The migration phenomenon was validated by University of Florida studies in No 2004 and 2006.
This year, as many years before, those travelers are making Twin Oaks a stop for a few days and even a week or two. The campers return for regularly scheduled vacations – the solitude, friendship and camping lifestyle beckoning not only in the fall but throughout the winter season. Rental cabins were added recently to the 72-site Good Sam park and have become an extremely popular camping option.
