Future home of the Orchard Ranch Resort North.

Orchard Ranch Resort in Prescott, Ariz., is set to expand, according to Ben Williams, general manager of the resort.

Owned by ATI Properties, a real estate development firm based in Tempe, Ariz., currently the resort features 633 sites for RVs, manufactured homes and park models. The expansion will sit on 37 acres to the north of the current resort and be called Orchard Ranch Resort North.

Williams told Woodall’s Campground Management that the initial phase of the project would add 210 sites, with 493 new sites opened for RVs, manufactured homes and park models by the completion of the project.

“We’re going to have a recreation center, administrative buildings, a pool, shuffleboard, a Boche ball court and pickle ball courts,” said Williams. “It’s going to have one heck of a view.”

The RV sites will be pull-thru sites with full hookups. The date for completion of the project is still tentative.

Williams said that local officials have really embraced the project.

“Officials who work for the city of Prescott Valley, which is who we do most of our business with permit and inspection wise, those guys have been great,” said Williams. “They know that the tax dollars are going to go to the community, where our guests are going to dinner or the movies or the grocery story and the gas station. They want growth too and we’ve been a positive part of the community and the area to the point that when we go the city we all know each other by first names.

“It’s a small town feel still,” he continued. “The hospitality is unreal and that’s what’s making our business grow so much, is that we still have that hometown feel and you get treated right and we’re affordable, the cost of living’s great here. I mean, we’ve got so many factors, the weather, the view and it’s just unreal.”

Williams said the demand for larger RV resorts is growing as Baby Boomers get older.

“Baby Boomers are excited about this type of living because they can have a nice home, they can live in a beautiful community that’s well maintained and then they still have money to buy a brand new vehicle, and money to travel and to go do things,” he said. “We want to make it affordable, where you can enjoy your life and you’re not sweating to pay your bills. That’s what’s making our business grow.”
