Surprise, Ariz., purchased the Donorma RV Park, which was bought by its (now-previous) owner in 2013, YourWestValley.com reported.
The city council unanimously approved reallocating $1.35 million in grant funding to general capital projects for the purchase.
City officials said the RV park is at 31% occupancy, though that fluctuates with the season. Surprise owns most of the property surrounding the site, which is part of Surprise’s “Original Town Site” area, and identified Donorma as a property to acquire for future city services.
