Willow Lake is the least-visited lake in Prescott, Ariz., and the city is in the midst of a budget shortfall, the Daily Courier reported. Meanwhile, about three-dozen city properties are currently under review for possible disposal and/or new use.

All of these relatively unrelated points have converged recently into a proposal — in its “very, very preliminary” stages, say city officials — for possible location of a privately developed and operated RV park on a parcel of land at Willow Lake.

In his weekly briefing to the Prescott City Council this week, City Manager Craig McConnell reported that the city’s recreation services department has met twice with a party interested in “partnering to develop an RV park on the north side of Willow Lake.”

Recreation Services Director Joe Baynes confirmed that his department is exploring the possibility of putting out a request for proposals seeking private partners interested in a long-term lease for development of an RV park at the lake.
