A fire official in Ohio says an arson fire has destroyed the mobile home of a man suspected in the killing of a sheriff’s deputy, The Columbus (Ind.) Republic reported.

Elmer Beard, deputy chief of the Mad River Township-Enon Fire Department, says the home of Michael Ferryman caught fire around 4:30 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 15) at the Enon Beach Campground in western Ohio. No one was injured.

The 57-year-old Ferryman and Clark County Deputy Suzanne Hopper, who was 40, both died in a New Year’s Day shootout at the campground near Springfield. Another officer was wounded.

Beard says the home had been moved from its original location to an area for storage of campers that are not in use. The fire damaged three other nearby trailer homes.
