ARVC MichiganCurrent and prospective members of the Michigan Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC Michigan) have a delicious opportunity to close out their 2015 season in a few weeks.

ARVC Michigan’s Annual Meeting & Campground Tour will take place Oct. 18-19 at Thunder Bay Resort in Hillman, Mich., and the event will include the resort’s famous elk-viewing carriage ride to a lodge featuring a gourmet dinner and wine tasting.

Earlier in the day, Thunder Bay’s 23-site RV park is one of four campgrounds that will be part of the association’s annual tour. Other parks to be toured include Jack’s Landing in Hillman, Camper’s Cove RV Park & Canoe Livery in Alpena, and Sorensen’s Grass Lake Resort in Hillman.

“Our members have had a long, stressful and extremely busy summer and this is a noce way to end the 2015 camping season,” Lori Tews, executive director for ARVC Michigan, told Woodall’s Campground Management. “This will be, as it always is, a great networking opportunity and a chance for people to laugh and enjoy each other’s company, plus eat some great food.”

Tews added that the campground tours are always a highlight as park owners discover new ideas that they can implement at their campgrounds.

The event begins with a cracker barrel discussion at 6 p.m., Oct. 18. After breakfast and the membership meeting the following morning, park owners will embark on the day-long campgrounds tour, which includes lunch, before ending with the carriage ride that night.

The event is being sponsored by Katt Insurance, Future Insurance Agency, Campground Automation Systems, BKC Insurance and Bonfire, previously known as RVSpotfinder LLC.
