The top award winners were announced Thursday evening (Dec. 4) at the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds’ (ARVC) Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, Nev.

The 2014 Small Park of the Year was Craig and Patty Claney’s Big Creek RV Park in Annapolis, Mo., which also won the Plan-It-Green Friendly park for the small/medium category.

The 2014 Medium Park of the Year was the Quigley family’s Jellystone Park at Kozy Rest in Harrisville, Pa.

The 2014 Large Park of the Year was Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in Santee, Calif., and new park director Laura Evans also accepted the Plan-It-Green Friendly Park Award for the large/mega category.

The 2014 Mega Park of the Year was Carefree Resorts’ Sun-N-Fun RV Resort in Sarasota, Fla., which also earned the Superior Quality Staff Designation from the ARVC Foundation.

Guest guides and marketing provider Southeast Publications of Plantation, Fla., received ARVC’s Supplier of the Year award.

ARVC Chairwoman Marcia Galvin gave two Chariman Awards, one to Lucas Hartford of Evergreen Insurance and one to Terry Munoz of Lake Conroe RV and Camping Resort in Texas, honoring him for his service on the ARVC board.

The ARVC Pioneer Award went to Rob Schutter, former ARVC chairman and president and chief operating officer of Leisure Systems Inc., the Milford, Ohio-based franchisor of the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts system.

Saundra Bryn of Desert’s Edge RV received the ARVC Foundation’s Above and Beyond Award for her work in developing educational curriculum.

ARVC’s Stan Martin Award went to Wade Elliot of Utility Supply Group, a two-time recipient of the Supplier of the Year award.

Jo Ann Mickelson of the Arizona Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds was honored as ARVC’s State Executive of the Year.
