Cheers rang out across the cool morning air Wednesday (Nov. 19) when it was announced that the new owners of Circle J Campground plan to keep the property as a campground, the Lebanon (Mo.) Daily Record reported.

The campground, as well as the Circle J Cafe and other associated properties, sold Wednesday to Don Gibson of Arbela, Mo., for $415,000. According to Gibson’s business card, he is the owner of Tri State Timber LLC, also in Arbela.

The property was seized by the federal government in late September after the previous owners failed to pay hundreds of thousands in taxes since 2003.

Nine bidders signed up to participate in the auction, which required a $50,000 check in hand when registering to bid. The winning bidder was to leave the check as a down payment on the property.
