The Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) is more than one month into its search for a new executive director to replace Amy Roberts, who started at The North Face during the past week.
According to a press release, Eagle Creek co-founder Steve Barker will serve as the interim executive director. He was previously the board chair of the Outdoor Foundation, OIA’s charitable arm. Jen Mull Neuhaus will assume that position, while Roberts leads the organization.
“It is paramount that we take the necessary time to find the next leader for the outdoor industry to collaborate on the issues that we will face over the next decade,” OIA Board Chairman Nora Stowell said. “Meanwhile, we have brought in Steve Barker as interim ED to continue the work with our great staff on our three pillars — sustainability, participation, and policy — and to be a connector, not only with our board, but also with other key constituents both inside and outside our industry.”
