Beginning Thursday (Feb. 26) the U.S. Bureau of Land Management will charge a $10 overnight camping fee at Swasey’s Campground along the Green River in Utah, the Deseret News reported.

Operational costs, including cleaning and waste disposal, continue to rise, and the fee will help offset those costs. The fees will be used for new facilites as well as site maintenance and upgrades.

A self-pay fee station will be located at the campground entrance and a camp host will assist visitors during peak weekends and holidays. Camping is on a first-come, first-served basis; campsites cannot be reserved in advance.
