Brett Favre

Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre recently visited a Wisconsin park to raise money for the Gilbert Brown Foundation.

The Champions Riverside Resort in Galesville, Wis., recently enjoyed a visit from Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre during an event to raise money for the Gilbert Brown Foundation on Sept. 9.

Over the course of two hours, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback was able to sign autographs, take pictures and raise over $40,000 for the foundation.

This particular event will be earmarked for St. Judes, according to information provided by Lori Severson, the owner of the park that hosted the event.

The foundation raises money for over 156 charities in Wisconsin. Recently, the foundation helped provide a car to Caden Dahl, a teen who received his driver’s license despite having a disability. Caden has been with the foundation for over 17 years and is its official spokesperson.

“Brett asked if all the campgrounds in Wisconsin are like this,” noted Severson. “I said most of the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owner (WACO) parks are, but you should come to Wisconsin in March and meet the owners yourself.

“This is the first time Brett has ever done an appearance in a campground and he said ‘These are my people,'” she added.

Campers at the park built a green and gold umbrella welcome bridge for the event which boasted over 50 sponsor signs.
