A new concept in trade events billed as “California RV Park Vendor Day” is being introduced April 24 in Newport Beach, Calif., by the California Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (CalARVC), the state’s independent trade group for RV parks and campgrounds.
The whole idea, according to CalARVC’s pre-event publicity, is to appeal to park operators in a new age when price in itself no longer is the bottom line in every business transaction. At the same time, the motivation is to essentially revert to a pre-recessionary time when vendors as “shopkeepers” and their customers maintained a generally informative and trusting dialogue regarding the products and services with which they were dealing.
“CalARVC is offering a way to restore the shopkeeper relationship between campgrounds and vendors on April 24 at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort,” says CalARVC’s release. “Make plans to attend ‘this is not a trade show’ trade show. Spend the afternoon visiting vendor expert tables in a relaxed outdoor setting. Here you can build those relationships with the “shopkeepers” who know your industry best.
“CalARVC’s RV Park Vendor Day will set the stage all day long,” CalARVC reports. “The morning starts with a networking Coffee Bar and opens with an interactive session for both park operators and vendors. During lunch find a table where you don’t know anyone and build another relationship. Then spend an afternoon dedicated to helping you connect with industry “shopkeepers.” Finish off the day enjoying your new colleagues with a BBQ and campfire on the beach.”
