More than a dozen California campgrounds and RV parks plan to offer two nights of camping for $50 during the first weekend of October, according to a news release.

“The idea of the promotion is to entice people who have never tried camping before,” said Debbie Sipe, executive director of the California Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CalARVC), which hosts Camp-California.com, the statewide travel planning website. “The campgrounds participating in this promotion are very diverse and they are located literally all over the state from extreme Northern California south to San Diego County.”
