Editor’s note: The CampCalNOW RV Park and Campground Alliance (CampCalNOW) announced that they are partnering with Care Camps to help support Care Camps’ mission of helping children battle cancer. Below is a message about the partnership that CampCalNOW sent to its members on Wednesday (Oct. 28).
Care Camps is the camping industry charity that helps children with cancer find hope and healing in the great outdoors through special oncology camps. Care Camps was founded by a group of campground owners who each agreed to do a fundraiser to support these special camps. At Care Camps, kids with cancer get all the medical care they need, and they get to do it in the outdoors, surrounded by other kids who understand exactly what they’re going through. At Care Camps, kids can forget about the chemo, radiation, and all the awful stuff that comes with cancer…and just be a kid again.
CampCalNOW is partnering with Care Camps to provide campgrounds the opportunity to participate in a Care Camps fundraiser to help children with cancer attend these camps free of charge to their families. In return, campgrounds gain the opportunity for great public relations on social media and in the news while they market this amazing cause to their campers. Consumers are typically more likely to support a business that they see giving back, so a partnership with Care Camps allows parks and campgrounds to build increased revenue and camper loyalty.
So, why join Care Camps and participate in a fundraiser? It’s simple: because every child with cancer deserves to have the chance to experience the healing power of nature, and the need is currently outpacing the funding. These kids need our help! To make it easy to participate, Care Camps has built a “FUN-Raising Starter Kit” with all the tools you need to execute your choice of fundraiser.
