But Kelley, who started working for the association a year ago, has already taken on high profile roles on the marketing front, promoting hiking, camping and caving through a series of appearances on Fox 40, Sacramento’s Fox News affiliate.
According to a press release, during the past two months, Kelley has appeared on Fox two times, and she has four more television appearances scheduled to take place during the next two months.
“It has been an incredible opportunity for exposure for Camp-California.com and to let people know that our campground directory is rich in content not only about campgrounds, but that we can be a resource for them for day trip ideas as well as multi-day adventures,” Kelley said.
Kelley said she is currently scheduled to do four more camping and travel segments on Fox40, including two in July and two in August, as the station reports on fun things for families to see and do during the summer months.
Kelley initially landed the series of media opportunities as result of media pitching earlier this spring by Jeff Crider, CampCalNow’s publicist. Crider contacted Sacramento area TV stations with press releases and suggested they use Kelley as an expert source for upcoming news reports on camping.
CampCalNow’s media outreach efforts include regular outreach to television and radio stations as well as newspapers and magazines and engagement with bloggers and social media influencers.
“We’re doing everything we can to raise awareness of Camp-California.com and of our affiliated parks,” Kelley said.
