Here’s another bit of evidence that campers are camping more these days.

Linda Alexander, manager of camping at the North Dakota State Fair in Minot, says the response to camping has been unbelievable, KFYR-TV, Bismarck, reported.

“Our first weekend has been sold out for the last two months,” Alexander said.

“The reason we came so early is because we wanted to get a good place. I heard it was going to be really busy this year,” said Dennis Miller, a camper.

For the first time in years, fair campgrounds are 100% full at a price of $15 a night. Alexander credits some of the big name entertainers for helping fill the lots. She says this is the first time to her knowledge the campgrounds have been sold out every one of the nine days of the fair.

The fair starts Friday (July 23).

Alexander said this is the first time they have had to turn campers in the direction of the non-electrical lot.

“If they can run off their battery, they are more than welcome to pull into those lots,” Alexander said.

But whatever you do they say arrive early.

“They’re coming! I`ve had campers here since Sunday night,” Alexander said.

Lots with no reservation needed have limited spaces left.
