campersAPP, a camping network app available in both the App Store and Google Play Store, announced the addition of the Amazon Alexa skill, according to Heather Gere, CEO of the Quechee, Vt.-based company.

Moving beyond mobile into the digital voice arena, the Alexa skill showcases RV parks and campgrounds, assists with trip planning, and provides campers with access to park information.

“Key content from a park’s website can now be delivered to campers via voice, making information faster to consume and more accessible,” said Heather. “We are excited to bring a whole new audience to campgrounds, delivering their content to over 100 million devices.”

Data is populated from the campersAPP dashboard, providing an audio perspective of information that can be helpful for busy families and traveling RVers, noted Heather. All parks get a free listing on the campersAPP Alexa skill which will provide users with a park’s phone number, address, and reservation instructions.

campersAPP enabled parks receive an enhanced listing on the skill, providing a plethora of additional content, like season dates, visitor and pet policies, park amenities, check-in and -out times, and even a park’s activities schedule.

“Amazon is dominating the smart speaker market and is executing a vision for bringing voice technology to campers on-the-go,” said Travis Gere, CTO of campersAPP.

For instance, various Android mobile phone are now shipping with built-in Alexa, according to Travis.

“Our goal is to connect campers with campgrounds and create meaningful experiences,” said Travis. “We are excited to leverage conduits made possible through Alexa Skills, enabling us to reach consumers of voice technology. The integration potential for voice technology in this space is limitless.”

“Information is the most valuable asset campgrounds have to give their potential campers, which is why we’ve made the campersAPP platform an exchange marketplace that brings everyone closer together,” explained Heather.

campersAPP is run by a team of campers, travelers, and outdoor enthusiasts, passionate about making traveling and adventuring as seamless and accessible as possible for everyone. The company is planning to extend the voice-command feature into Google next, stated Heather.
