Continuing the tradition of helping fund community initiatives, the Bow RiversEdge Campground Society (BRECS) provided nearly $64,000 in grants to nine of Cochrane’s non-profit organizations in Cochrane, Alberta, on Wednesday (Oct. 15), the Cochrane Times reported.

Formed through a partnership between the Cochrane Lions Club and Rotary Club of Cochrane in 2004, the society was created with the goal of providing funds to community-based groups through the grounds’ annual profits.

Since its inception, this has amounted to about $1.2 million given back to the community to help enhance recreation, culture, sustainable development and community services in the area.
