Camping In Ontario/OPCA held its convention, CampEx exhibitors showcase and annual general meeting Nov. 19-22 in Huntsville, according to a press release.
Themed “Camping 150 – Where We’ve Been; Where We’re Going,” the event drew record attendance of over 200 people representing over 100 campgrounds, as well as record attendance of the suppliers taking part in CampEx trade show.
Members took in sessions covering topics from marketing, septic, government relations and health and safety. Attendees for the popular campground tour visited Deer Lake RV Resort, Tipi Adventure and Santa’s Whispering Pines Campground.
The general meeting, held Nov. 21, ran in conjunction with the convention. The new executive of the board of directors was introduced with Mike Tomaszewski of Double M RV Resort & Campground returning as president, Susan Moelker, Pine Valley Park as vice president, and Ellie Abucay-Giammattolo, Windmill Point Park & Campground as secretary/treasurer. Nolan Vallery, Highland Pines Campground & RV Sales, was named as a new board member, replacing Ron Parker, Mountain Trout Camp.
The Awards of Excellence Gala Dinner on Nov. 21Â with the following winners being awarded for:
- Supplier of the Year – Sunspace Sunrooms
- Website of the Year – Olympia Village RV Park and Campground
- Campground of the Year (small) – Willow Lake Campground and RV Park Woodstock
- Campground of the Year (large) – Happy Hills Resort
