According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI) only two park model RVs were sold in Canada during the first two months of 2018.

Along with that, Canadian towable sales remained flat in 2018, edging down 2.5% for the first two months.

Results by segment showed:

• Travel trailer sales edged up 1.8% year-over-year through February.

• Canadian fifth-wheel sales tumbled 16.5% for the two months.

• Folding camping trailer registrations fell 26.8% through February.

Thor Industries Inc. was the overall Canadian towable sales leader through February with a 55.4% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. (31.8%) and Grand Design RV Co. (7.9%).

Thor was the leader in travel trailer sales for the two months, claiming a 57.4% market share, followed by Forest River (32.6%) and Grand Design (5.1%). Thor was also No. 1 in Canadian fifth-wheel sales, capturing a 50.5% market share, followed by Forest River (23%) and Grand Design (22.6%).

Forest River led year-to-date Canadian folding camping trailer sales with an 80% market share while Thor posted a 16.7% share.
