Retail sales of towable and motorized RVs were down by more than 20 percent in January, compared to January 2011. But incomplete data from three of the country’s most populous provinces make the results misleading.
The incomplete data was from Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia, Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI) reported. The provinces rank first, second and third, respectively, among the provinces in terms of population and contain more than 70 percent of Canada’s population.
The report showed towable sales were off 20.9 percent and motorized sales were down 22.2 percent compared to a year earlier.
SSI will update the report once complete data is available.
