National RV Communities LLC is further expanding its presence in the Florida market with the acquisition of RV resorts in Zephyrhills and Naples.
Settler’s Rest RV Resort in Zephyrhills and Marco Naples Hitching Post in Naples were acquired earlier this month and will be marketed using the Carefree RV Resorts brand name, which NRVC uses for all of its RV communities across the country, according to a news release.
“Settler’s Rest RV Resort and Marco Naples nicely complement our existing portfolio of RV resorts in the Florida market,” said Charles Ellis, vice president of acquisitions.
Settler’s Rest is a 380-site RV park in Zephyrhills, where Carefree already has a dominant market position with seven properties. Zephyrhills is located in Pasco County roughly 25 miles northeast of Tampa. The city is within easy driving distance of major cities, airports, theme parks and beaches.
The 25-acre Settler’s Rest resort features a clubhouse, shuffleboard and horseshoe courts, two bathhouses and a laundry facility. Eighty five percent of Settler’s Rest’s sites are leased on an annual basis, while 15% of the park’s sites are available for short term use.
Marco Naples is a 305-site RV resort located on a 23-acre site in Naples. The resort’s sites are 79% occupied on a year-round basis, while the remaining 21% of RV sites are rented to seasonal RVers who stay primarily during the winter months.
Originally developed in 1972, Marco Naples has a swimming pool and clubhouse. Naples is located 40 miles south of Fort Meyers and is considered a mecca for fishing and boating enthusiasts. JetBlue Park, the spring training facility for the Boston RedSox, is also located nearby.
Founded in 2005, NRVC is the nation’s 10th largest owner/operator of destination RV and manufactured housing communities in the U.S. and Canada with 61 communities containing over 14,000 sites. Of the 61 properties, 48 are located in Florida. Other properties are located in California, Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Ontario, Canada. All properties have a wide variety of amenities including, clubhouse, swimming pool, planned activities programs as well as rental units, which can accommodate people who don’t have their own RV.
