Editor’s Note: The Carolina’s Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CARVC) sent an email featuring a list of things it had accomplished in 2022 on Wednesday (Dec. 21). WCM has published that list below.

 

 

 

 

WE GREW.
CARVC added 21 campgrounds bringing the total number of members to 142 in 2022. A record total of campgrounds in CARVC! (12 NEW campgrounds in N.C. and nine NEW campgrounds in S.C.).
WE HAD FINANCIAL SUCCESS.
Membership revenue was up $8,850, a 9% increase over 2021
Vendor membership dues were up $500, a 5.5% increase over 2021
Ad sales were up $ 2,070, a 4.5 % increase. Record ad sales for CARVC!
WE GAVE OUR DIRECTORY A NEW LOOK.
We printed a standard 8 3/8 “x 10 7/8’ booklet featuring both N.C. and S.C. campgrounds. It was divided into three regions for both NC and SC as shown on the Camping Carolinas website. The inside cover featured a cartoon highlighting S.C. and N.C. FUN Facts. It included the N.C./S.C. RV Dealerships along with a feature article on RV Types, Terms and Costs.
WE HAD SUCCESS IN A six MONTH CAMPAIGN FOR MARKETING CARVC MEMBER CAMPGROUNDS.
Influence Digital Agency was hired for a six-month campaign that ran from May to November. Social Display, Geo-fencing, Addressable Geo-Fencing and Re-Targeting tactics were used to drive campers to the Camping Carolinas Website. It resulted in a 134.36% increase in Users, a 133.46% increase in New Users, 118.08% increase in Sessions and was responsible for 4,626 visits to the Camping Carolinas Website. 329 people targeted by the campaign VISITED CARVC member campgrounds.
WE REVEALED A NEW CAMPING CAROLINAS LOGO.
The new logo was developed to take advantage of the extremely valuable URL www.campingcarolinas.com. Members will start to see the new logo being used to market the website at RV shows, on social media, in print materials and on promotional items.
WE WON AWARDS.
Ocean Lakes Family Campground was named the Mega Park of the Year and CARVC member and former Area 4 ARVC Rep, Mike Hobby, was awarded the Chairman’s Award and Stan Martin Memorial Award at the National OHCE in Orlando.
WE HAD SOCIAL MEDIA SUCCESS.
2021 vs 2022: Facebook Page reaches: 2021 209.3K vs 531.5K up 153.9%, Facebook Page Visits: 2.7K vs. 5.2k up 92.5%, New Facebook Page Likes: 524 vs 1.4k up 167.1%.
Instagram Reaches: 11.8k, Instagram Profile Visits: 257, Instagram Followers: 117. CARVC began using Instagram for carvc/campingcarolinas.
Since the launch of the new website and logo, the social media pages have been rebranded to Camping Carolinas with the new logo for both Facebook and Instagram.
WE GREW OUR SUPPORT STAFF.
JVES LLC, out of Pennsylvania, was hired to assist with marketing and member outreach through constant contact and social media.
WE ADDED A MEMBER BENEFIT OF CARVC MEMBER SPOTLIGHTS.
Each member campground was featured on the CARVC Facebook and Instagram pages. The post included a featured image, a short description, and a link to their campground listing on the Camping Carolinas website. The campgrounds’ social media pages were tagged. A follow-up e-mail was sent to each campground with the Facebook reaches, website clicks, and Instagram reaches.
WE ADDED TWO SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS.
The Camping Carolinas Member Facebook group was added just for CARVC members. Members can ask questions, communicate with their fellow members and see important CARVC details. An Instagram account for consumers was added. When pictures are posted on Facebook, they will automatically be sent to the Camping Carolinas Instagram page. Our investment in social media increased by over $3,000 from 2021.
WE WERE INVOLVED LEGISLATIVELY.
NC Lobbyist, Ed Hanes, worked with the NCRLA on NC HB 352 and SC Lobbyist, Rob Chumley, was instrumental in working on SC Bill H3765.
WE CREATED RELATIONSHIPS TO PROMOTE OUR MEMBER CAMPGROUNDS AT THE RV SHOWS.
The North Carolina RV Dealers Association and CARVC agreed to work together at two RV shows in 2022 and two RV Shows in 2023. CARVC was provided a booth space in return for a presentation by CARVC outlining information on the association, current campground trends and giving CARVC campground members the opportunity to promote their campgrounds during the seminar. WE LAUNCHED A NEW CAMPING CAROLINAS WEBSITE.
The website includes a NEW user experience, supplier interface, dashboard, design, and a filter system that has been simplified and very accurate. The website has been built to support marketing & growth for the future of the membership and is very fast! Our investment in the Camping Carolinas website increased by over $12,000 compared to 2021.
WE HAD A SUCCESSFUL CONFERENCE.
Over 46 campgrounds (with over 100 attendees),43 supplier members and 50 prospective buyers and developers attended the 2022 CARVC Conference and Trade Show
