According to a letter to the editor published by the Cape Cod Times, the National Park Service is considering stripping the protected status of Horton’s Campground in Truro, Mass., essentially killing a beloved place that greatly fuels our local economy and small businesses.

This will occur if National Seashore Superintendent George Price follows the recommendation of the Seashore Advisory Committee. In doing so, the National Seashore will create a lasting financial dent on the Lower Cape and hurt visitors who camp as well as those who struggle to make a living.
