The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa (Okla.) District announced winter campground operations for Tenkiller Ferry Lake to take effect Dec. 1, the Tahlequah Daily Press reported.

Designated campsites will provide electrical service and a potable water source centrally located at the campground. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis during the winter season.

The Lake Tenkiller project office will close Snake Creek, Chicken Creek, Elk Creek, Pettit Bay 2 and Strayhorn Landing on Dec. 1. The Tenkiller project office will reopen the campgrounds on March 1.

Cookson Bend campground will have a limited number of campsites available during the winter season.

Pettit Bay I, Carters Landing and Sizemore Landing will remain open throughout the winter.

The winter camping rate is $13 to $15 per night.
