The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is increasing fees at eight campgrounds in its Huntington, W. Va., district in order to be fair to nearby campgrounds, the Associated Press reported.

Officials say the increase for the 2015 season will vary per location from $2 to $6 per night. The campgrounds include those at Burnsville Lake, Sutton Lake, Summersville Lake, R. D. Bailey Lake and East Lynn Lake.

Park Ranger John Nichol said the fee increases are necessary in order for the corps to provide fair economic competition with other public and private campground providers in the area.
