A local developer has expressed an interest in building a new RV park in Bellevue, Iowa, the Telegraph Herald reported.

City Administrator Loras Herrig said he has been in discussions with A.J. Spiegel about a possible 60-plus site RV park that would be located on the north end of the city. The park would be located near Offshore Bar & Grill and Baymont Inn & Suites, both of which are owned by Spiegel, Herrig said.

“It seems to be more and more people have got campers and they want to go camping and we want to make it as pleasant as we can,” Spiegel said.

Spiegel hopes to have the RV park open in June, but that timeline is dependent on weather, he said.

City code does not require permits for the concrete pads that would be used in the park. Sites would connect to Spiegel’s existing water lines, Herrig said.

Spiegel said the infrastructure was put in place when the hotel, restaurant and event center were built.
