Virginia Campground

Concept image from the Knapp presentation shows what a site may look like at the new campground.

Northumberland Supervisors approved a conditional use permit for a “high-end RV park” in Callao (Va.) at 226 Village Green Drive, a property that was formerly a golf course, according to News on the Neck.

The venture is the dream project of realtors Jack and Debbie Knapp, natives of Chesapeake, who partnered on the application with Daniel Corder, owner of Neil Office Complex.

“We would like to continue the campground theme. But, in order to make it a viable prospect for us to retire here, we will need to expand the facility,” said Debbie.

She explained that even though they’re referring to it as a campground, their vision is for an upscale RV park that includes 130 sites on 70 acres of land. Each site will have its own water, sewer, electric and high-speed internet. Several of the sites will be ADA-compliant, and there will be several EV charging stations, she said.
