Editor’s Note: This message was distributed by the Escapees RV Club and discusses their partnership with Winnebago, a Forest City, Iowa-based RV maker, to improve the RVing experience for Winnebago customers.

Escapees RV Club, over the past 40 years, has been guided by the needs of RVers, which has led to the creation of a wide array of support services. However, above all else, Escapees has become a bonded community of people sharing the RVing life.

This backbone creates an invaluable asset of community knowledge and experience to help fellow RVers. Every day we see Escapees members helping others through social media, the Escapees magazine, online discussion forums and in person. It is time that we take this collective knowledge of the RV lifestyle to make a bigger impact on the RV way of life, beyond just helping one another.

Not only has Escapees provided valuable advice, guided by your input, to influence the RV Industry Association (RVIA) on key matters, we also worked on building more meaningful communications with RV manufacturers. As RV enthusiasts your voices are highly important so we wanted to create a stronger conduit between us (the RVing community) and RV manufacturers.

Earlier this year, Escapees began conversations with Winnebago to find a better means to connect your experience directly to product designers and engineers, to create a product that better suits your RVing needs. At the 58th Escapade, Escapees and Winnebago held a series of targeted focus groups and workshops throughout the week. The feedback was hugely successful for both participants and product designers, and it led Escapees and Winnebago to establish a working relationship that we feel will give power to your voices as we continue our work together.

Winnebago has shown, time and time again, that they are a perfect fit for this type of relationship through their shared values, passion, and by being a fellow industry leader. This is a great opportunity for all of us. And we are excited to see what the future holds as we pursue our never-ending goal to make the RV lifestyle the best it can be!

To that end, for years we have worked extensively to interact with and develop programs and policies that enable us to gather feedback from our product owners to enable continuous improvement.

More recently, we have embarked on more dynamic and wide spread activities that reach deeper into the expertise and real-world experiences of a wider audience of RV enthusiasts.  We call it “Voice of Customer” and this research has led to enhancements in a number of products and areas with some of those great ideas coming directly from workshops and interactions with members of the Escapees RV Club.

It is inspiring to engage with enthusiasts living the RV lifestyle. We are specifically looking forward to working together with Escapees RV Club members at additional events to ultimately, assist in achieving the company’s purpose of helping customers explore the outdoor lifestyle by enabling extraordinary experiences as they travel, live, work and play.
