The Florida Association of RV Parks (FARVC) and Campgrounds and the Alabama Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds held its bi-annual board meeting at the Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa, Fla., according to a press release.
Bobby Cornwell, president and CEO of the associations, took the opportunity to unveil the location and theme of this year’s combined spring conference in May.
“I’m extremely excited to announce our new venue, the Doubletree Hilton Hotel at SeaWorld,” Cornwell. “We outgrew our previous location due to record attendance last year, and it already looks like we are going to beat last year’s record. In fact, the demand by speakers for an opportunity to speak in front of our members is so high, that we are thinking of adding an additional day to the conference next year.
“This year’s speakers are so big,” added Cornwell, “I just can’t wait to reveal their names in the coming weeks in forthcoming press releases. They are truly recognized nationally and internationally with appearances on network TV to having companies like Hilton, Marriott, IHG and many other hospitality brands as their customers.”
The theme for the conference last year marked the glamping trend in the outdoor hospitality industry. FARVC had panelists from national operators like Westgate Resorts and Florida market leaders like Pat O’Neill, whose outdoor resorts such as Twin Lakes and CampGulf are experimenting with various types of glamping accommodations.
Building on last year’s theme the association has chosen “The Connected Customer Experience” as this year’s theme.
“If you attended our conference last year, it was clear that in order to be successful in this day and age, operators must go beyond the physical accommodation whether it be an RV site or a glamping unit,” Cornwell said. “Today’s customers are expecting a full and encompassing experience and they are willing to search for it, and once they find it — pay for it. Customer experience begins during the prebooking stage when the customer searches for a unique experience, continues during the booking stage and into the check-in process. Needless to say that the experience during the stay is paramount, as well as, the experience during the review process and the post stay experience.”
Cornwell added that the association has been extremely fortunate to have a keynote speaker of international magnitude to cover this topic, and is expecting a full house.
“Amir Harpaz, one of our board members, has lined up a mega online influencer whose daily vlog on guest and customer experience is watched by tens of thousands of people” continued Cornwell, “With interviews of hospitality industry leaders such as Hilton’s CEO and 4,200 hotels and resorts as his customers, you are going to want to attend this year’s keynote.
“I’m extending the invitation to operators, park owners and other National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) members. We are really taking things to a whole new level this year” concluded Cornwall.
