Yuma, Ariz.,  firefighters were called to battle a blaze at the Mesa Verde RV Park on Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 24), the Yuma Sun reported.

Just after 4 p.m. firefighters responded to a report of a park model RV on fire in the 3600 block of 4th Avenue.

Other park residents were able to warn the man who was staying in the RV of the fire so he was able to get out safely.

The owners of two adjoining park models which were threatened by the fire were not home at the time. One of the owners, according to a neighbor, did not come to Yuma this year.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, but the trailer and contents sustained severe damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
