A storage complex at Salem RV Park  in Salem, Ore., sustained heavy smoke and fire damage Saturday night, fire officials told the Statesman Journal.

At least 20 storage units were destroyed and all of the approximately 40 units sustained smoke damage, said Battalion Chief Trent Friesen of Marion County Fire District No. 1.

Firefighters were called just after 5 p.m. to 4490 Silverton Road NE on a report of a fire at the multi-unit storage facility, Friesen said.

Crews first on the scene saw heavy smoke and fire and called for backups. In all, three alarms were called, and more than 50 firefighters were on the scene, including crews from Woodburn, Keizer and Salem.
