Acton (Calif.) Kampgrounds of America (KOA) campground’s general manager Joe Fink is struggling to overcome a $250,000 setback after fire gutted one of his main cabins over the weekend, the Santa Clarita Valley Signal reported.

“It could potentially be a problem for our summer season,” Fink said Monday after he had a chance to survey the damage.

“That cabin contained our Internet connection and all our phone lines,” he said. “Now, I’m looking at a dollar value of a quarter-of-a-million. And we have no phone lines now.”

Firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to the campground on Soledad Canyon Road shortly after 2:45 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports of the fire, fire department Supervisor Cheryl Sims said.

The fire gutted the building at the KOA campground, despite more than two hours of firefighting efforts to extinguish the blaze, witnesses and fire officials said.

One man received burns to his foot.
