Longtime Tampa Bay Times outdoors editor Terry Tomalin, who died in 2016, will be honored by a new campground in Boyd Hill Nature Preserve carrying his name.
A new campground in Boyd Hill Nature Preserve in St. Petersburg, Fla., will honor Terry Tomalin, the long-time Tampa Bay Times outdoors and adventure writer who died five years ago, according to Tampa Bay Times.
The city council voted unanimously on May 20 to advance the campground’s name to second reading on June 3, when they will vote on it again.
An accomplished outdoorsman, Tomalin wrote for the Times for 25 years about all things outside, including fishing, boating, camping and preservation, until his sudden death in 2016 following a heart attack. He was 55.
