Campground and RV resort operators are reporting higher than usual bookings this summer as a result of record RV sales and many COVID-weary families eager to get out and spend quality time outdoors.
But many RV resorts across Florida still have plenty of vacancies in the days leading up to the Fourth of July and throughout July, according to Bobby Cornwell, executive director and CEO of CampFlorida.com, the statewide travel planning website for camping enthusiasts.
“Many Florida parks will have vacancies this summer and campers should be able to find an RV park wherever they are traveling in Florida. However, it’s always best to play it safe and reserve a site in advance when possible,” Cornwell said.
CampFlorida.com lists over 400 campgrounds, RV parks and resorts across Florida. Here are a few parks that reached out to CampFlorida.com recently to indicate they have vacancy in the coming weeks:
Cabana Club RV Resort in Auburndale: This family-owned resort halfway between Tampa and Orlando features 155 RV sites and 60 park model rentals. Amenities include a zero-entry, heated swimming pool, a nine-hole artificial turf putting course, a tiki hut and bar, a splash pad and activities for all ages, including basketball, corn hole and yoga. The resort also has separate dog parks for large and small dogs and a dog wash station.
