Holidaying grey nomads have become business within the Australian economy and those towns and cities that ignore them and do not not provide parks for their RV vehicles do so at their peril, reported the Circular Head Chronicle of Circular Head, Tasmania.
Tall Timbers has recognised the boon these people bring to the local economy and have welcomed them with open arms by setting aside free parking in its stunning grounds for up to 40 vehicles.
But the offer is only open to those who are driving fully self-contained motorhomes.
“We want to encourage those tourists with RVs to stay in Smithton and we think this can only help,” the sales and marketing manager of Tall Timbers, Sophie Kelly, said on Tuesday (Nov. 19).
“And of course we do welcome them but the maximum stay is for 72 hours in any 14 day consecutive period.
“As well as being able to stay in our lovely grounds they will also have access to all of our other facilities.
“Also once they are here, hopefully they will stop off at other great spots and businesses in our region to enhance their Tassie holiday experience.”
