Rocky Mountain National Park is under a full fire ban as of Monday due to fire activity across the state and weather conditions, according to The Denver Gazette.
Also Monday, Colorado Parks and Wildlife issued an emergency closure for all public access and downstream recreation on the Colorado River from Fruita to Utah.
The national park is always under Stage 1 fire restrictions, prohibiting campfires except those within designated campfire rings in picnic areas and campgrounds. Fireworks are never allowed in the park.
On Monday, park officials issued a Stage 2 fire ban, prohibiting campfires everywhere, including charcoal briquette fires, according to a news release.
It will be in effect until further notice.
