The Glynn County (Ga.) Commission will consider a rezoning and a conditional use permit on Thursday (Feb. 1) to allow construction of an RV park on U.S. Highway 17, at its intersection with Deer Wood Way.

According to The Brunswick News, residents of a neighborhood along Deer Wood Way turned out to a Mainland Planning Commission (MPC) meeting earlier this month to protest the proposed RV park, citing concerns with lighting, noise and trespassing, among other things.

In response, MPC members voted 7-0 to recommend the county commission approve the rezoning, but imposed a number of conditions on their recommendation to approve the permit.

First off, the MPC voted to make its recommendation on the condition that the property is successfully rezoned and a traffic study of the area is submitted.

It also required the developer reach an understanding with the Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission in regards to sewer capacity, limit the number of parking spaces to 70 and bring back the final site plan for the MPC to review.
