The Go RVing ad campaign will have a strong presence during this year’s 2008 Summer Olympics centered in Beijing, China, set to run Aug. 8-24, with 129 TV spots and 16 billboards that will air on NBC and its sister networks – MSNBC, Oxygen and USA.
According to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), many Go RVing ads will run during the games’ most popular events, including gymnastics, and will result in more than 116 million ad impressions.
“We expect these high-profile ads to elevate consumer awareness of the RV lifestyle just as the retail show season kicks off,” said RVIA Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Gary LaBella. “RVing is one of the most affordable family vacations out there for Americans, and our messages will resonate with the millions of Americans who plan to tune in for the Beijing games.”
It marks the second time the Go RVing ads have appeared during Olympics competition as the 2006 media schedule was highlighted by a run during the Winter Olympics in Turin (Torino), Italy.
The Olympics are an extension of Go RVing’s 2008 television buys that have focused on popular sporting events with ads running in conjunction with the Daytona 500, Super Bowl, Triple Crown thoroughbred races and NASCAR.
