Sue Bray, a 30-year leader of the Good Sam Club, the RV industry’s largest consumer organization, has been named to the RV/MH Hall of Fame, class of 2009.
Bray’s initial post with the club was director of national chapter activities in 1976. Quickly following, she became executive director, growing the organization from less than 200,000 members to approximately 1 million member families that belong to the club today.
Additionally, she has served for 25 years on the board of the American Recreation Coalition (ARC), and on the advisory board for the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Scenic Byways program. She has also been a collaborator with the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) legal affairs staff and was a key promoter of the “Take Pride in America” program to increase volunteer service on public lands, which has been adopted by the Department of the Interior.
The RV/MH Heritage Foundation was formed in March 1972 and since that time 301 industry pioneers and leaders have joined the elite group.
The class will be officially inducted on Aug. 3 at the hall’s facility in Elkhart, Ind.
The Good Sam Club is part of Affinity Group Inc., which also owns Woodall’s Campground Management.
