RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Ind. to host RV dealer show Aug. 9-12.

The Midwest RV Super Show will be moving to a new, larger location this year to accommodate growing interest.

This year’s show will be held Aug. 9 to 12 at the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum just east of C.R. 17 at the Indiana Toll Road in Elkhart, Ind. For the past two years the show was held in downtown Elkhart in an effort to boost the city where many RVs are made.

The show had taken a one-year hiatus during the height of the recession after being at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen, the Goshen News reported.

“It really was a neat place to have a show, but it was a really tough place to have a show,” said Mark Bowersox, show director, in reference to Elkhart’s Civic Plaza.

RVs were crowded onto the plaza and an adjacent street at last year’s show.

“We are fortunate to have the industry coming back … and we just couldn’t get more RVs in there,” Bowersox said of the plaza location.

So, earlier this year the decision was made to move the show to the RV/MH Hall location.

“This is the first show in the country where the public can see RVs from the 2013 model year,” Bowersox said. “And it’s the only place you can see the latest RVs along with some of the earliest. With hundreds of brand new RVs on display outside and dozens of vintage RVs on display inside, this event appeals to every RV enthusiast,” Bowersox said in a statement about the show.

He said so far, six northern Indiana RV dealers have committed to be at the show and he has several others that are interested.
