This weekend, around 60,000 thousand people are expected to be in and out of Hershey, Pa., as the Pennsylvania Recreational Vehicle and Campground Association (PRVCA) hosts the 51st edition of America’s Largest RV Show.

WHP TV Harrisburg reported that the event, which wraps up Sunday (Sept. 15), is occupying a huge space at the Giant Center, encompassing about 33 football fields worth of space.

Not only is there a huge contingent of visitors, but close to 3,000 vendors have been in the area since Labor Day Weekend, taking advantage of everything the area has to offer.

“It really does create a sense of community,” said Heather Leach, executive director for PRVCA. “Most of the hotels and campgrounds were already full before the show opened, booked from this time last year.”

All the visitors are providing a big boost economically. David Black with Harrisburg Regional Chamber says the area can expect full restaurants and local attractions. “Maybe some of them will be able to drive them home. Who knows but the economy is hot and people have a little more disposable income,” he said.
