Utah’s state parks saw more than 113,500 visitors statewide over Memorial Day weekend, an increase of more than 15% from 2013, television station KCSG reported.
Utah State Parks Director Fred Hayes attributed the increase to new park improvements, including new cabins and campground facilities at Starvation State Park; a new zipline at Yuba State Park; Intrepid Trail at Dead Horse Point State Park; and good water levels at most reservoirs.
Most state park campgrounds were at full capacity, with only a few reporting vacant sites.
